Dotted Or Broken Line Road Markings

These road markings show that this is a walking path for pedestrians. However, there is no obstruction if there are no pedestrians crossing the road.

Broken Or Dashed Road Markings

This signifies that the road is a double lane road. But there is no restriction on changing the lanes. You can swap them if you like.

Unbroken Singular Road Markings

Again, this is a two way road and you are not allowed to swap lanes. The yellow line is a barrier for you. If you do so, you could be fined, or worse, you could lose your life if a vehicle hits you from the opposite side.

These numbers painted on the roads mean that there is a speed limit while driving on this road. Here in this picture it means, that you cannot exceed the speed of twenty kilometres or miles per hour.
