Since their beginning in the year 1896, Olympic games have been hosted in 19 different countries till date. And every four years means a different location and a different venue. And while it is easy to keep our focus only over the current tournament, the prior occurrence fades into obscurity.
Stadiums that were once filled with thousands of viewers rooting for their respective countries, waves of excitement & enthusiasm that once filled the atmosphere, are now home to nothing but silence and dead memories.
The games might be over here, but these venues continue to serve as a grim reminder to their respective countries and the whole world. A reminder of how much time and public money is wasted over hosting such events.
