Facebook allows you to copy your photos to the "Google Photos account"

Today the Facebook App facilitate to the US and Canadian users to transfer photos and videos to the Google Photos app.

The tool was first introduced last year in certain parts of the world, but this is the first time that it has reached the United States.

The process is very simple. On the desktop, log in to your Facebook account and tap the arrow in the upper right corner to access your settings. Then click on the “Your Facebook Information” menu on the left and select “Transfer of a copy of your photos or your videos”

From there you’ll be asked to set a destination for your photos – Google Photos is the only option right now. Then log in to your Google account, confirm the transfer, and you’re good to go.

The process on the phone is very similar: click on the options menu, go to settings, then scroll down to the “Your Facebook Info” section. tap on” Transfer a copy of your photos from videos”, then follow the rest of the steps above.

Currently there is no way to determine exactly which pictures to transfer – all or nothing. For illustration, only the images are copied to your Google Photos account. If you want to remove it from Facebook, you will have to do it manually. However, it is a welcome addition, even if you just want to put your photos in one place.

The feature is added as part of the 2018 agreement between Facebook, Microsoft, Google and Twitter to facilitate data transmission between services.
