Most of us love visiting new countries but not all countries love new visitors, more specifically American visitors. Though America has the most travel privileges in the world having visa free access to 174 countries, but many nations make it extremely difficult for Americans to visit them. In fact the US State Department has issued a list of travel warnings from more than 40 countries. So, are there any places where Americans simply can’t visit or are not welcomed? Here are some of the most difficult countries in the world for Americans to travel to:
There is no US Embassy in North Korea and the US State Department strongly recommends all Americans against visiting the country. You cannot visit North Korea if you have ever worked for media or in the US military/government. Make sure to have a valid passport all time and follow the rules. Even if you get to enter, you can’t roam around independently and you will have to get their permission to take each photo. North Korean officials have been known to detain tourist, send them to hard labor camps or even put them to death. But there is growing number of tour agencies available to visitors, unless you are a journalist or South Korean.
